    also der iran-experte lässt ausrichten, dass man das überhaupt nicht einschätzen kann. solche aktionen gab es in den letzten 10 jahren öfter, und ohne grösseres ergebnis.

    aber jetzt muss man das wohl so deuten, dass das ein signal an die iranische opposition ist. in den kurdischen gebieten hat die repression gegen die linken schon immer einen härteren verlauf genommen, 1980 wirklich bürgerkriegsartig; der „kuridsche“ aufstand damals war in wirklichkeit ein letztes massenhaftes aufbäumen der iranischen revolution.

    man hat dort immer alles, was im iran passiert ist, härter zu spüren bekommen.

    und jetzt hat man mit der opposition und ihrer viel zu vorsichtigen strategie wohl die geduld verloren. man kann nur hoffen, dass diese es sich jetzt, kurz vor dem jahrestag der wahl, gesagt sein lässt.

    man muss sehen.

    Eigentlich wollte ich gar keinen Kommentar schreiben.
    Aber dann entdeckte ich dass da oben steht: „Willkommen zurück Fruchtstückchen (Ändern)“. Daraufhin dachte ich mir: „WTF, lan!“. Wieso bin ich als ein gewisse/r „Fruchtstückchen“ hier eingeloggt?

    Ich fasse es einfach nicht. Blogsport ist so derart multidimensional, das packt mein Hirn einfach nicht.

    Äh. Das sind lediglich die Pressemeldungen der üblichen Verdächtigen (Daily Star berichtet nichts). An Analyse ist da nichts. Aber dem presse-Echo nach zu schliesen, meinen es die Kurden recht ernst. Was immer das heißen mag. Herr Administrator übernehmen Sie.

    Iranian embassy demos turn violent

    Anti-death penalty protesters try to break into Swedish, Danish sites.

    Protests outside Iranian embassies in Sweden and Denmark turned violent Thursday as rock-throwing demonstrators tried to force their way into the compounds.

    In Stockholm, one demonstrator received minor arm injuries and several people were arrested as protesters threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at the embassy building. Police said the crowd of around 250 people demonstrating against capital punishment in Iran also burned flags.

    Police spokeswoman Christina Johansson said the violence began when about 70 demonstrators tried to push their way through a line of police and into the embassy grounds.

    The exact number or arrests was not available, but Johansson estimated them at about five.

    In a similar protest at the Iranian Embassy outside Copenhagen, police used pepper spray to try to disperse a group of around 100 rock-throwing demonstrators. Police spokesman Mads Firlings said one officer received minor injuries and four people were arrested.

    Both demonstrations appeared to have calmed down later Thursday.

    ‘Iraqi and Iranian soldiers trade fire on border’
    SULAIMANIYAH, Iraq (AFP) – Iraqi border guards exchanged fire with Iranian troops on the border with Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region on Thursday, the head of Iraq’s border forces in Sulaimaniyah province said.
    „Iranian forces thought that the border guards belonged to PJAK (the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan – an Iranian Kurdish rebel group) and started to open fire,“ Brigadier General Ahmed Gharib Diskara told reporters.
    „The border guards shot back and one officer of the Iraqi army has been captured. Negotiations are ongoing to free him.“ Gharib said the shooting went on for about 90 minutes in a mountainous part of the two countries‘ border known as Shamiran, 90 kilometres (55 miles) southeast of Sulaimaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan’s second-biggest city.
    PJAK is a Kurdish rebel group in Iran’s northwest. It is closely allied with the Kurdistan Workers‘ Party, or PKK, which operates in Turkey and is listed as a „terrorist“ group by Ankara and much of the international community.
    The last confrontation along the Iran-Iraq border was in December, when Iranian forces took control of an Iraqi oil well on disputed territory, but there were no clashes and the Iranian forces eventually withdrew.
